"My daily training routine changes all the time, and I’m constantly kind of making things up as I go. It's a work in progress, even after I've been training for 15 years or so, and also during the year, of course, it’s going to change. So, there are periods when I'm doing base training and kind of explosive strength training as well as breath holds. Most of my breath hold training is done on exhale. There's a lot of that kind of “meat and potato” stuff during the base training season and then as I come into depth specific training, I'll start to do a lot of exhale dives, full exhale dives, and training in depth, where I’m doing repeats of 30-meter dives with short recoveries, to kind of build up my fitness and depth as well, and starting to do slightly deeper dives.

As I come closer to the dates when I'd want to compete at the top level, then I taper off towards just doing deep dives and maybe stretching and a little bit of other training as well. But mostly, as in all sports, tapering towards higher intensity, lower volume of training, and that, as a kind of a general map, seems to work for me. But in general, a daily session might be some kind of stretching, body stretching, lung stretching, then pool training and then in the afternoon maybe some strength training, specific bodyweight stuff to target the muscles that are used for methods".
