Introducing the next evolution in carbon freediving fins. Created in collaboration with Yamamoto™, our new fins combine Alchemy’s precision engineering with Yamamoto’s Aurora® technology, delivering superior hydrodynamics, unrivalled build quality, and a visual transformation that captivates in the deep. Engineered with state-of-the-art materials and meticulous craftsmanship, these fins offer lightning-fast response and robust design, making them the go-to choice for freedivers who push the limits. Tested and trusted by elite athletes, they redefine the boundaries of what’s possible underwater.
Yamamoto’s Aurora® technology was designed to inject light and color into a world often dimmed by negativity. Its unique, color-shifting properties come to life both above and below the water, transforming every dive into a vibrant, immersive experience. Aurora® fins create a stunning visual effect in underwater content, making freedivers look and feel extraordinary and ensuring they stand out effortlessly. When combined with an Aurora® wetsuit, the result is a captivating, otherworldly display that’s impossible to overlook—a truly unique and mesmerizing experience for both the diver and those watching.
It all started with an idea. Yamamoto™, a powerhouse in neoprene, had created the Aurora® color technology, and we saw the potential for something more. Could this innovative technology work on fins? Could we work together on a project like this? No company had done it before, so we embarked on a journey. Materials flew back and forth between Greece and Japan as both teams navigated uncharted territory, exploring how to apply the coating directly onto the carbon fabric before the epoxy resin process. Through technology transfer, relentless experimentation and collaboration, an ambitious concept evolved into a reality. The result was a groundbreaking pair of fins that blends design excellence, innovation, and unmatched performance, redefining what’s possible in manufacturing of freediving gear.
Aurora® fins are available at either a 23-degree or 30-degree angle. The 23-degree angle pairs with Pathos Fireblade or Cetma S-Wing foot pockets, while the 30-degree angle mounts on C4 (250, 300, 400) or Mares X-Wing foot pockets. Both options deliver reduced effort and oxygen consumption with precise hydrodynamics. The fins feature a striking Aurora® coating with a mirror finish on the front, and a matte finish on the back. Each fin includes a unique serial number embedded into its lamination, guaranteeing authenticity.
These fins feature an advanced carbon layer configuration within each blade. Fifteen layers of premium, EU-made, 100% carbon fiber—specifically selected for deep-sea applications—are expertly positioned to deliver an exceptional bending profile, offering superior feedback, precision, and speed. The first-ever V-shaped reinforcement layer extends beyond the blade’s angle, channeling raw power right from the start of every kick, ensuring maximum efficiency and responsiveness for deep-diving performance.
Aurora fins are equipped with the innovative, patent-pending Hardtip™ design. By constructing the blade’s tip in reverse order, we’ve made it harder, optimizing the overall bending profile to eliminate dead spots during immersion. Hardtip™ activates when the fins oscillate during vertical movement, delivering continuous power transfer without energy loss. While it doesn’t affect the blade’s overall stiffness, it enhances efficiency and ensures a seamless transition of power with every kick.
Expertly engineered to meet the most demanding standards, each fin is crafted in controlled environments with consistent ambient temperature and humidity. Using 45 tons of pressure and vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VRTM), they undergo 12 hours of post-curing with precise temperature control, managed by a PLC system with a deviation of less than ± 0.1°C. From start to finish, the entire production process is powered by renewable energy sources, ensuring not only top-tier performance but also a commitment to sustainability.
The blades are designed with a dolphin tail-shaped (D.Tail) ending, engineered to provide maximum thrust with minimal energy consumption. Based on hydrodynamics studies (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute / T. Wei) and rigorous testing in Computational Fluid Dynamics (C.F.D.) software, this design mimics the natural efficiency of dolphin movement, delivering superior performance. The D.Tail shape harnesses the flow of water to enhance speed and power, making every kick more effective with reduced drag.
Our hydrodynamic water rails, made from 100% high-performance silicone, are precision-engineered using 3D CAD technology and manufactured in the UK. Extensive C.F.D. testing has shown that these rails effectively channel water along the blade without losing their shape, even under extreme bending conditions. Unlike rubber, silicone excels in maintaining strength and structure, ensuring optimal water flow from the start of every stroke and delivering an immediate response to the diver’s movements.
Choosing the correct stiffness and footpockets for your fins can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help. Alchemy fins come in five different stiffness levels, each suited for varying body types and applications. Whether you're looking for maximum power or a softer, more flexible blade, selecting the right stiffness ensures optimal performance and comfort in the water. By matching the right stiffness to your body type and diving style, you'll experience greater efficiency and control. Here's how to get it right.
Alchemy fins are custom-made to order and not kept in stock. The standard lead time is approximately 2 weeks, though it may vary depending on the workload. To ensure timely delivery, we recommend reaching out to confirm the current lead time before placing your order.
If you purchase blades with footpockets from our online shop, you will receive a fully assembled pair of fins, ready to use. However, if you only order blades and plan to attach them to footpockets yourself, please keep the following points in mind:
- We only use glue to attach the blades to the footpockets. Please contact us for guidance on how to do it the right way.
- Avoid drilling the blades as it will void the 5-year warranty.
- Let us know the type of footpockets you plan to use as longer or shorter water rails may be necessary.
- Ensure that the end of the footpockets' tendons aligns with the length of the already installed water rails. If footpockets without side tendons or shortened purposely are used, the water rails must be extended accordingly. The side edges of the blades should never be left exposed.
- Please reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.

RECREATIONAL
Throughout the years, some of the world's deepest freedivers have used
Alchemy fins to set countless World and National records.
Here's what they had to say about us.
The Arch is one of the most dangerous freediving spots in the world.
Its nickname is the “divers’ cemetery”.
Watch Thibault Guignes cross it with his V330.
Reforest the World
We'll plant a tree for every product we sell via our eshop. A real tree, in a real planting project, in Madagascar.
