Cristian Castaño Villa

Born in the Colombian Andes, far from the ocean, Cristian discovered his passion for freediving in Koh Tao, Thailand, in 2014. He went on to become an accomplished instructor, coach, and competitive freediver, teaching in some of the world's most renowned freediving destinations and guiding over 300 students.

Representing Colombia on the international stage, Cristian competed in more than 20 events, earned multiple World Cup medals, and broke 21 national records. Among his achievements was an 82-meter Constant Weight Bi-fins dive in Dahab, Egypt, using Alchemy V3 fins, making him the deepest South American freediver in the discipline at the time.

Although Cristian is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through the people he inspired and the mark he left on the freediving community. He will forever remain an honorary member of the Alchemy team, and his passion, achievements, and spirit will continue to inspire us.
