How is it going boys and girls welcome back to Key West Waterman, my name is Aaron Young. A little different scenery than you're used to seeing me in probably, I'm back where I grew up, in Central Florida, in a place called Titusville. I'm actually staying at my brother's for this week, in Mims, Florida. I don't get a lot of time off doing what I do and just being a business owner and self-employed, and if you are self-employed you know what I'm talking about, but I was able to take some time off and get up here for the week and see some family.
But I wanted to do an episode, showing you guys how I got my start in spearfishing. If you're familiar with the area, there's not a ton of opportunity, unless you've got a bigger boat, you can get offshore and when I was younger I didn't have a big enough boat to get offshore, so I really started to hone my skills, and I think this is what kind of laid the baseline for my spearfishing career, is learning to hunt in the Indian River. If you're not familiar with the Indian River, it's the inland water that runs up and down the coast of Florida, it's got all kinds of channels and bridges and whatnot, but the biggest challenge is that the water is insanely murky, probably 90% of the year. So I wanted to do a shore dive, I don't do a ton of those, and kind of show you my thoughts and some tips and tricks on it, and show you guys what diving in the Indian River is all about.
