A few months ago we sent a couple of neck weights to two amazing creators in Hawaii, Kaila & Sabby 808. Even though the guys are not deep, competitive freedivers, we wanted to see how they would incorporate the neck weight into their daily dives and gather feedback. They recently posted a review on YouTube, here's what they had to say about it.

Freediving In Maui With The Alchemy Neck Weight

My name is Kaila Razonable, I'm an artist and freediver based here on Maui, and I'm Sebastian Sayegh, a freediver professional cinematographer, and photographer based on Maui. Today we want to give you a little bit of a review on these amazing Alchemy neck weights, that as you can tell, we already really like!

So yeah, we are part of the team, but they did send it out to us and today we want to just kind of let you know our thoughts on them after we've had a few months of using them in different aspects of line diving and kind of more just like freestyle exploration diving. I've even had the ability to use them on some shoots with like other models and stuff, so let’s jump into it!

I guess the first thing we want to say is if they're super comfortable. The first time we tried neck weights, they were handmade and it was basically just the lead weight with the electrical tape around it. It was just really loose and hard to focus on your diving, whereas this is made with a responsive memory architecture and aerospace grade silicone. Perfect, look at it! So because it's made with that , it's super comfortable and as you can see it just molds perfectly right to your neck and sticks to your suit or your skin even! You kind of just forget about it, even having it on.

In the beginning I was like “I don't really know if we'll be using these too often”, in all honesty, we're not too big fans of neck weights, especially for line dives where we were introduced to them, the DIY ones, and it kept messing up my dive, I could not get into that flow state because it was constantly slapping up against my chin. I guess if you make your own super custom it might work, but it's not going to be like this.
