The third day of competition of the CMAS World Freediving Indoor Championship in Belgrade again delivered world-class performances in Static Apnea and Fast Apnea 2 X 50 meters.
In Static Apnea, there was a new Panamerican Continental Record by Maria Veronica Cordova Mancheno from Colombia. The gold medal was awarded to Heike Monika Schwerdtner from Germany with a time of 08:10,52, the silver medal to Julia Kozerska from Poland with a time of 08:01,02 and the bronze medal to Silvie Gilson from France with a time of 07:56,59.
In the men's category in Static Apnea, the gold medal was awarded to Budimir Šobat from Croatia with a time of 09:12,71, the silver medal to Laurent de Beaucaron from France with a time of 08:58,42 and the bronze medal was given to Boris Milošić from Croatia with a time of 08:03,48.In the second discipline of the day, Fast Apnea 2 X 50 m, and specifically in the women's category, the best result and therefore the gold medal was awarded to Erica Barbon from Italy with a time of 37,74 seconds, the silver medal went to Katarina Baschenko from Ukraine with a time of 39,44 seconds and the bronze medal to Diana Ratnchenko from Ukaine with time 41,35 seconds.
A very good result was achieved by junior apnea diver Minja Kostic from Serbiawith a time of 47,97 seconds.
In the men's category in Fast apnea 2 X 50 m, the gold medal went to Lorenzo Catono from Italy with a time of 34,65 seconds, the silver medal went to Angelo Sciacca from Italy with a time of 35,37 seconds and the bronze medal was awarded to Derin Toparlakk from Turkey with a time of 35,47 seconds.
On the last day of the CMAS Freediving Indoor World Championship in Belgrade, two more world records were broken. In the discipline of b in the women's category, the Croatian Mirela Kardašević won the gold medal, and additionally improved the previous world record by nine meters, which now stands at 275.36 meters.
In the men's category, the Polish athlete Mateusz Malina was crowned new world champion in the discipline of dynamic with fin, setting a new world record with a distance of 321.43, and improved the best result of all time by five meters.
After four days of competition at the "Milan Gale Muškatirović" swimming pool, five world records were broken, and with 200 participants from over 30 countries, this was the largest world championship to be held in freediving so far.
The organization of this extremely interesting sports event was significantly helped by the City of Belgrade and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
