Free Immersion is a favorite discipline among many freedivers. For the newbies who are not aware what FIM is, "in Free Immersion, the freediver is allowed to use the rope for both the descent and ascent, but must keep the same weight throughout the dive and cannot use fins to assist them. Despite the emphasis on the small muscle groups of the upper body, the advantage of using the rope mean that FIM dives are usually almost as deep as CWT. Divers will usually pull down to between 20 and 25m on the descent and then freefall the rest of the way to the bottom using their negative buoyancy".

Watch Alchemy freediver Fatima Korok bag a National Record for Hungary, diving down to a staggering -81m, during the last Aida World Depth Championships in France.
