Sebastian Sayegh

Sebastian Sayegh was born in the small beach town of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, and has been swimming since he could walk. Taught to hold his breath by being thrown into the water, it became an instantaneous love for him to get down to the ocean floor. From a young age, he grew up with all water activities like surfing, and snorkeling and was introduced to spearfishing which got him into the sport of freediving. Once the GoPro Hero2 came out, Sebastian was constantly in the waters shooting everything he could and creating videos of those memories. To share aspects of the ocean with others that would never be able to experience such a sight was truly rewarding for him. Sebastian attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts for Cinematography where he learned professional filmmaking skills to elevate his craft further. He now resides in Maui where he creates commercial work for brands and small businesses alike but is still an avid creator in the water. With recent training in line diving, he has hit 31m and looks to gain more depth in the future. However, for him, it has never been about the competitive aspect but being reconnected with nature and sharing those beautiful moments captured with friends and family. It has been a fun challenge for him to capture the line diving process that truly encapsulates the feeling of diving into the depths.
