Nicolas Tahimanarii
Nicolas Tahimanarii was born in 1996 in Raiatea, an island in French Polynesia. He spent his early years out there and his love for spearfishing started at the age of four, when his dad took him to one of his fishing sessions for the first time. Spearfishing in French Polynesia is a lifestyle and a way of life. He grew up near the ocean surrounded by the stunning Polynesian islands and this unique lifestyle. Moving to Tahiti, he would spend the majority of his time in front of his house fishing or surfing. He found fishing rewarding because he was able to feed his family and connect to the calmness of the ocean. During high school, he already knew he wanted to make a living out of spearfishing and share his passion and the beauty of the French Polynesian islands with everyone. After years of spearfishing, he managed to harvest trophy fish like marlin, dogtooth tuna, wahoo, sailfish and many others. He describes French Polynesia as a garden where he wants to spend his whole life with his family. A professional spearo supported by multiple brands, he decided to become a spearfishing guide in 2020, to share his passion on an international level and help his customers experience unforgettable moments in exotic locations. Living in a paradise for spearfishing, Nicolas is always looking for bigger fish to land and seabed to explore. Spearfishing helped him in his young years and he hopes the new generations will fall in love with the ocean and find their way into it.
