Nicolas Tahimanarii
Spearo - Guide
Nicolas Tahimanarii was born in 1996 on the island of Raiatea in French Polynesia. His passion for spearfishing began at the age of four, when his father took him along on his first fishing trip. In French Polynesia, spearfishing is more than a sport—it’s a way of life. Growing up surrounded by the ocean and the beauty of the islands, Nicolas naturally embraced this lifestyle.
After moving to Tahiti, he spent most of his time fishing or surfing near his home. Fishing gave him purpose—it allowed him to feed his family and connect deeply with the ocean’s calm. By high school, he knew he wanted to turn his passion into a profession and share the magic of French Polynesia with the world.
Over the years, Nicolas has landed impressive trophy fish, including marlin, dogtooth tuna, wahoo, and sailfish. In 2020, he became a spearfishing guide, offering clients unforgettable experiences in one of the world’s most spectacular underwater environments. Backed by several brands, he continues to chase bigger fish and explore new territory.
For Nicolas, French Polynesia is not just home—it’s a garden he hopes to enjoy for life with his family. He credits spearfishing for shaping his youth and hopes to inspire the next generation to fall in love with the ocean, just as he did.
