Athletes, actors, influencers, journalists, random people; everyone has a podcast. Spotify has 2.2 million podcasts on its platform, and as of the end of 2020, 20% of its audience engaged with them. Impressive, right? Podcasts have been around for more than 15 years. They were introduced by Apple, because of two of their products, iTunes & the iPod. Before their emergence, you had the radio, with its ads, narrow content, and your preferred hosts timed to specific time slots & shows. Podcasts are very different. You can download them, stream them any time of the day, share them at will, subscribe, and never miss an episode. Plus, hosts can talk about anything they feel like.
There are many freediving podcasts around, we appreciate them, and actually, from time to time, we feature them in our news, as they share some very interesting info. However, we always felt that there was something missing. We knew that there were more topics to be covered around freediving, topics which are hard to talk about, even considered as taboos.
So, after giving it some thought, we decided that it was time we produced our very own podcast. A podcast that would dig deep into the souls of those featured, without holding back. Needless to say, it turned out to be not your regular freediving podcast. The first episode is dropping tomorrow, we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it! Stay tuned.
