Jamie Ryves

Jamie Ryves was born on Norfolk Island in the South Pacific, where a life surrounded by ocean shaped his deep respect for the sea. Though he has lived abroad, most of his time has been spent on the island, developing a strong bond with the water and its ecosystems.

Freediving became his way to connect inwardly through self-awareness and meditation, while spearfishing taught him the value of selectivity and sustainability. Choosing only what he needs to support his family has fueled his passion for understanding fish behavior and ethical hunting.

Jamie hopes to inspire others to approach spearfishing consciously—emphasizing patience, precision, and respect, especially when targeting powerful species like Dogtooth.

Now living in Vanuatu, where he holds dual citizenship, Jamie supports his family through spearfishing and guiding ocean adventures around Efate and the northern islands. He’s excited to join the Alchemy team and share his journey, insights, and stunning underwater imagery with the community.
