Alli Penovich

Alli Penovich is a passionate freediver and spearfisher. Raised in Florida, she began traveling the world from a young age, deepening her love for the ocean with every new destination. At 17, she took her first freediving course, and soon after, followed in her father’s footsteps by taking up spearfishing—an activity that quickly became central to her life.

Since 2013, Alli has earned four spearfishing world records, cementing her reputation in the sport. In June 2019, she became a Level 1 Freediving Instructor through Freediving Instructors International. Soon after receiving her certification, she booked a one-way ticket to Bali to fully immerse herself in freediving.

Her first competition was the Singapore Depth Championships, where she won Overall Female, Best Female Newcomer, Deepest Female in Constant Weight Bifins, and tied for Deepest Female in No Fins. She went on to compete again in Indonesia, placing third in Overall Female and reaching a personal best depth of 71 meters.
Following a successful competitive season, Alli was proudly selected for the 2020–2021 USA Freediving Team. Her dedication, adventurous spirit, and record-setting dives continue to inspire others in both the freediving and spearfishing communities.
